    Frequently Asked Questions and Support

Q: My game won't start? What should I do?

R: Try closing the app and restarting it. If this doesn't work, make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your device. Also make sure your wifi / hotspot is working properly. If the game keeps crashing or won't load, please contact our support team via the "Report a problem" button in the game or by email at clashofclans.feedback@supercell.net

Q: Can I continue my game on a new device?

R: Yes you can. Remember that the only way to transfer your account to a new device is to have it linked to a Game Center account. Log into Game Center on your new device and the game will ask if you want to load your village on the new device.

Q: Can I play with multiple accounts on the same device?

R: Clash of Clans only supports one account per device. Playing multiple accounts on the same device is the best way to permanently lose all your villages.

Q: Can I restart the game and start over from the beginning?

R: Currently it is not possible to restart your game. However, you can start a new game on any device that does not have a previous Clash of Clans game.

Q: How can I control my units in battle?

R: Once deployed on the battlefield, your troops are autonomous and cannot be controlled. Each time you deploy a unit, a cross will highlight the unit's first objective. Different units will attack according to their preferred capabilities and objectives. To optimize your attack strategies, learn about each unit's performance on the barracks troop training screen. Also check the information on defensive turrets to find out which units they are targeting.

Q: What happened to the troops that survived the battles?

R: After combat, all troops still on the battlefield revert to Elixir and soak in the dirt. Spending troops to win battles is a key piece in Clash of Clans strategy. Think of your troops as resources that you must spend wisely. Plan each battle carefully and try to use the right number and type of troops. Throwing all of your troops into combat regardless of cost versus benefit can lead to a Pyrrhic victory, in which you end up spending more resources than you have earned.

    Q: Why can't I buy gems?

R: Make sure your device is configured to allow in-app purchases. Go to Settings → General → Restrictions and check that in-app purchases are activated. Then go out and restart the game. If you are still unable to purchase gems, please contact our support team via the "Report a problem" button in the game or by email: clashofclans.feedback@supercell.net

Q: I just bought gems but they haven't reached me. What I can do?

R: Although most transactions go smoothly, sometimes Apple or Supercell servers can be slower than usual or experience an error. Please wait and check if the purchased gems arrive. If they don't, try restarting the game. Your gems should be credited. If all else fails, contact customer service via the app's reporting form and they will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: Can I change the name of my Village?

R: In the Air Controller update, name changes are available. You will only be able to change your name in Clash of Clans once for free, and this only becomes an option when your Town Hall reaches level 5. While you are in the normal starting area looking at your base, tap the button shaped like 3 gears near the bottom right of the screen. Now you will notice that along with everything that was before, if you tap on "Settings" there is a new "Rename" button. A box will appear asking you to enter and change your name in the game and, again, you are warned that you can only change your name once for free (you can change it again but in this case it will cost Gems). You just have to enter the new name that you would like to enjoy during the game, select "Continue" and you are done.

Q: How can I contact support for help?

R: If you can access the game, we recommend that you use the in-game "Send Feedback" function to contact our support service. You can find it in the settings menu. If you do, don't edit the subject as it contains your player ID. If you are unable to enter the game, please send an email directly to our technical support service and indicate your name in the Game Center and / or the link of your Facebook profile, your name in the game and also which clan you belong to ( if you belong to one). You can contact technical support at clashofclans.android@supercell.net (for Android only) or clashofclans.feedback@supercell.net for IOS.

Q: What is a maintenance break and why does Clash of Clans have them?

R: Maintenance breaks often mean they have to update the servers, fix a minor bug, support new content, or improve the overall quality of the game. Maintenance breaks are quite common in server-based games like Clash and usually last between 15 minutes and 4 hours. They always appear in the Game or are posted on Twitter, Facebook and the Supercell forums as far in advance as possible.

Q: Can I restart the game and start over from the beginning?

R: Currently it is not possible to restart your game. However, you can start a new game on any device that does not have a previous Clash of Clans game.

Q: I have lost my device and / or my game. What I can do?

R: Unfortunately, if your village was not linked to GameCenter, you will need to contact Supercell support. Recovery may or may not be possible and the support queues are long. If your game was linked to GameCenter, just log in with your old account and open Clash of Clans. I should ask you to restore your old village. You just have to say yes.

    Specifically for Android

Please visit here for more information on Google Play and purchases on Android devices. If this doesn't help, please contact our support team via the game's problem notification feature.

Q: I have lost my device and / or my game. What I can do?

R: Android devices use Google Play Games instead of GameCenter. If you have linked your village to Google Play Games, recovery means logging into your old account and opening Clash of Clans. If not, you will have to contact Supercell support.

Q: How can I connect my village to Google Play Games?

R: To connect your village to Google Play Games, open the Google Play Games application on your device and make sure you are logged in. Afterwards, open Clash of Clans and go to the game settings. Press the Google Play Games login button to connect your village to Google Play Games.

Q: I can't buy gems, are there no options in the game?

R: If the gem icons in your in-game store are grayed out, tap the icon for information on what may have gone wrong. You may have to:

    1. Check that you are signed in with a valid Google account or
    2. Update your Play Store app by opening and updating it
