Please note that this page currently contains information for iOS users only.
Clash of Clans is extensively tested before each update on various platforms. However, there are times when some users' devices encounter problems after initial installation, upgrade, or server maintenance. Some of these menu steps or paths may be different or may not be available in all versions of iOS.
Also, be sure to associate your village with GameCenter. Villages that are not associated with GameCenter (that is, only linked to local files on the device) cannot be recovered if access to local files is lost.
IMPORTANT: If your device is Rooted, it is no longer fully supported and we cannot help you. Please restore the device to its original settings to fully enjoy Clash of Clans.
Steps for troubleshooting
Start with step # 1 and if that step doesn't work, continue down the list to the next step. Continue this process until the problem is resolved.
- Check the Clash of Clans Facebook / Twitter page for any posts that specify server issues. If this is the case, there is nothing you can do until they have resolved the problem.
- Make sure you have a good network connection. If you suspect that there are network problems, reset it, in Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset network settings
- Close the application and start it again.
- From the home screen, double-tap the "Home" button to display open applications. Swipe up on the Clash of Clans app screen to close it. Once the application is closed, you can try to reopen it
- Turn your device off and on again, and try to reopen the app.
- Press and hold the sleep button until the off button appears and turn it off. Wait until the device is completely off and turn it on again. Once on, you can try to open the app
- Delete the application and reinstall it.
- Press and hold the Clash of Clans icon until the icon moves and an "X" appears, then press to remove it. Press the "Home" button to exit delete mode. If the icons do not move, make sure that the "Remove applications" option is not disabled in Settings -> General -> Restrictions.
- Check that your device is not full in Settings -> General -> Use
- Update your device to the latest version of iOS that it supports.
- Log out of GameCenter and log back in.
- Reset your Apple ID authorization
- Install any free application that is not already on your device. You can delete it later if necessary.
- Contact your service provider.
- If the steps above didn't help, 99% of the time it's a problem with your ISP. Some providers unintentionally or for specific reasons misclassify Clash of Clans network traffic. Several of the major Internet service providers have blocked the game all the time or during specific times of the day. Contact their customer service and explain your issues to see what they can do.
- You can always do a factory reset. (Not recommended without being linked to GameCenter!)
- It is recommended to do an iCloud backup first and then restore from iCloud backup. Another alternative is to make a backup to iTunes. This should be the last option. If your village is not linked to GameCenter, this step is not advisable as you will lose access to locally stored village files

- If the crashes occur in the game, where you can access it, click the Settings icon, then the Help and Support button, and then the Report a problem button. This is important, because it sends the email with the necessary in-game account details to better assist you.
- Send a support email directly with all the details you can to: [email protected]
- Make a post on the forum in the "Bugs & Problems" subforum. The first thing we are going to ask you is if you have tried the steps in this article (it is also a sticky within that forum), so please indicate if you have. When you post, please include model / iOS / type of connection, as well as at what point the app crashes / hangs and all possible details.
