- The Animal House is unlocked when the Town Hall is upgraded to level 14.
- The Animal House is an army building that houses Animals, a class of units that can be combined with Heroes. These Animals can be unlocked and upgraded in the Animals house.
- Animals are a special class of troops that can be assigned to Heroes; Each animal has its own abilities.
- Each Animal can be assigned to a hero; this assignment can be changed in the Animal House and in the Army setup menu. Each Hero can only have one Animal assigned to it.
- In battle, Animals are deployed at the same time as their assigned Heroes, and their objective is such that they generally remain close to their assigned Heroes. If their assigned Hero is eliminated, they can still continue fighting (although their behavior will change accordingly).
- Unlike Heroes, Animals do not need time to regenerate after being damaged or defeated. They do not defend the village when they are attacked.
- Animals are enhanced with Dark Elixir. While upgrading, an animal cannot be used in battle (they will be seen sleeping outside the Animal House).
- The Animal House undergoes only a few significant visual changes.
- On level 1, the Animal House is a shack with a studded green sloping roof. There are studs visible on the wooden supports of the main building. An open door is visible and the interior has a red floor. There is a food plate with tools next to the Animal house. There is a wooden birdhouse with a dark green roof on a bolt-on bracket at the bottom. Paw prints are visible on the ground outside the house.
- At level 2 an antenna is added to the top of the aviary and the two smaller footprints are replaced with bird claw marks. The studs are extruded and metal plates are added around them.
- At level 3, the aviary gets a thicker support beam and the owl claw marks are replaced with yak hoof tracks.
- At level 4, the ceiling nails turn gold when nailing a metal plate. A rainbow lies on the ground next to the plate of food. The yak footprints are replaced by horseshoe-shaped markings.
- Although the Electric Owl is not unlocked until level 2, the aviary is present at level 1.
- According to the Animal Food Bowl, LASSI appears to eat nuts and bolts, and a double-ended wrench, which resemble dog food and a bone, respectively. It is suggested that Unicorn's food source is related to the rainbow.
